THIRD ANNUAL COWS ‘N CABS RETURNS TO BENEFIT TWO CENTRAL FLORIDA CHARITIES: OCTOBER 26
Central Florida’s Top Culinary Talent Gather for Live Entertainment, Silent Auction and More Than 200 Food, Wine, Spirit and Craft Beer Tastings
WHAT: Cows ‘n Cabs (“CNC”), a charity-based culinary festival curated by ABC Fine Wine & Spirits’ David Larue and celebrated chef-owner John Rivers of 4 Rivers Smokehouse, returns for the third consecutive edition with its signature rustic, western scene presented in Winter Park’s West Meadow. Cows ‘n Cabs, which raised more than $60,000 last year for three local charities, is anticipating 400 guests for a collaborative event inspired by local cuisine. Created in 2010 with hope of helping break the cycle of poverty in Central Florida, 100 percent of ticket sale proceeds and auction items will benefit the Community Food & Outreach Center and Elevate Orlando, which assists with fighting hunger and mentoring at-risk youth, respectively.
Jim Beam, Budweiser and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits will contribute to the evening with more than 200 wines, spirits and craft beers samplings. In addition to a selection of gourmet samples presented by an elite group of invite-only, local restaurants – many helmed by James Beard-nominated chefs, Drew Estates will present an on-site lounge to showcase its signature collection of cigars.
“The level of support and generosity given by the Orlando community continues to grow each year, always exceeding our expectations. From chefs to student volunteers, each participant enables us to execute an event that generates much-needed funds for our poverty-stricken neighbors,” said Tina Larue, CNC visionary.
Attendees will delight in a live musical performance; an on-site photo booth; a competitive game of “Wine Ring Toss,” where guests can win bottles of wine; as well as a silent auction, which includes coveted items such as spa treatments, tickets to major professional sporting events, vacation getaways and more.
