Loews Hotels & Resorts locations are celebrating National Burger Month with locally inspired signature burgers paired with craft beers, available through the end of June. In Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort are grilling up specialty burgers and pairing them with craft beer for the summer season.
From pickles and onion rings to French fries and coleslaw, everything goes with a good burger – but nothing quite like a cold beer. The talented food and beverage teams at Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando have done their research, piecing together a perfect combination of unique burgers and brews. The resulting burger-and-craft beer pairing is not only delicious, but also complements Loews’ dedication to delighting guests with exciting and approachable local travel experiences.
Find out what’s grilling just right for National Burger Month:
At Loews Royal Pacific Resort, guests in Jake’s American Bar can enjoy the B-52 Bomber Burger, a black angus burger with short ribs, caramelized onion, horseradish cheddar, lettuce and tomato paired with Jake’s American Red Lager, a smooth red lager with a hearty hop finish.
At Splendido, the poolside bar and grill at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, chefs will be grilling the Buddha Burger with pickled vegetables, pea sprouts and sriracha mayo, and pairing it with Funky Buddha Floridian Hefeweizen.
The Kitchen at Hard Rock Hotel is featuring its famous Kitchen Burger with fresh angus beef, bacon, cheddar, onion rings, lettuce, tomato and chipotle horseradish aioli, paired with Funky Buddha Brewery’s Hop Gun IPA.
At Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, the bowling alley will feature its popular Galaxy Bacon Cheeseburger paired with Cigar City Invasion Pale Ale.
We had the delightful pleasure of tasting a four-course meal paired with craft beers at Jake’s American Bar at Lowes Royal Pacific Resort.
First Course: Pretzel Rods, Four Cheese Porter Fondue paired with Swamp Head Cotton Mouth. The crisp and refreshing Belgian witbier with a delicate mix of fruity esters and spicy phenols paired delicately with the in-house made fresh pretzels.
Second Course: Mexican Seafood Cocktail Shot, local fish, shrimp, scallop, avocado, cilantro, citrus tomato cocktail sauce paired with Cigar City Jai Alai. Sweet, savory, and tangy, the delightfully fresh seafood treat paired brilliantly with Jai Alai’s hint of caramel with citrus and tropical fruit hop notes in the finish. Man, I could swim in Chef Nando’s ridiculously good cocktail sauce.
Third Course: B-52 Bomber Burger, beef patty, braised short rib, caramelized onion, and horseradish cheddar paired with Jake’s American Red Lager. I adore these individual ingredients listed for this burger, put together in one bite, what’s there not to love? Did you know that Jake’s American Red Lager is only available at Lowe’s Royal Pacific Resort?
Fourth Course: Churro Bread Pudding, salted caramel ice cream, spiced candid pecans paired with Boulevard Dark Truth Stout. One wouldn’t usually pair dessert with beer, but this black liquid gold showcasing complex flavors of espresso, roasted fig, crème brulée with a rich mouthfeel stands it’s own ground with Jake’s deeply delicious churro bread pudding.
Mille grazie (thousand thanks) to Executive Chef Nando Belmonte and his gracious and talented team for indulging us with this enlightening food and beer pairing. Executive Chef Nando born in Rome, a native of Sydney, Australia, a winner of numerous culinary awards spearheads Lowe’s food and beverage outlets at Universal Orlando Resort.
I am also excited to share that Loews Royal Pacific Resort is celebrating the start of the summer season with the first Jake’s Beer Festival, Friday, May 22nd 2015.
