Because No Child Should be Food Insecure: Support @2harvestCFL with #GivingTuesday!

I am a staunch advocate for Second Harvest Food Bank.  Why? Cause their mission is to have a Hunger-Free Central Florida. For someone like me, whose entire life has revolved around food, this cause touches me in more than one level. So, I’m honored to be one of the Social Media Ambassador’s for the noble #GivingTuesday mission where both YOU and I can help.

The 2nd annual #GivingTuesday will be held on December 3, 2013. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we want the giving community to come together for #GivingTuesday!

The holiday season presents us with opportunities to count blessings, and to help others feel the joys that make it such a special time. This year, so many families, kids and seniors in our community find themselves in that awful gap of unmet need. The good news is that together we can help them.

This year, Second Harvest Food Bank is teaming up with WESH 2 News’ Share Your Christmas on #GivingTuesday to help families, seniors and kids in our community.

The #GivingTuesday challenge: Raise $10,000, which is equivalent to 40,000 meals for our neighbors in need. 

Help Out

On Tuesday, December 3rd, at midnight a donate button will appear on our #GivingTuesday web page. I know that with your help we can encourage our Central Florida community to raise $10,000 online, which will provide 40,000 meals locally.

A donation in any amount makes such an incredible difference to our neighbors in need.
